How create form and send to central database?

Hello, i have question.

 

I want create internet form with Name, gender, question with check some boxes, upload images from user etc. This form is for users and i want this informations somehow centralize to one database. I want in database make filter for information or search in. How i can do it? Is possible create this form in Wordpress and he send it to some central database (is this database offline or online)? Or Adobe have tools for it? I now search for path, way and tools.

 

Pleas give me some clou. Thanks and sorry for my bad english.


RH 2015 - How to delete multiple topics?

Hi all,

I had this issued with RH11. If a folder contains topics, you cannot delete the folder - you have to delete each topic individually. This is quite time consuming if a folder contains, for example, 20 topics. Is there a workaround to delete an entire folder with the topics it contains?

How can I import Glossaries in RoboHelp 11?

I followed the reference guide with to select a glossary in the glossary folder; then select File>Import>Glossary. However there is not an  glossary import on the File menu.

Office 2013 Support on Robohelp 10

Hi All ,

 

I have been using robohelp for a little while now great product....

 

We have recentley upgraded to Office 2013 and it seems that Robohelp 10 does not support output to Word when Office 2013 is used - ( Printed Document output  works "Most" of the time on Office 2010)


Other than rolling back to 2010 (my current solution )  has anyone else come across a way of making Robohelp 10 work with Word 2013 -

 

If Adobe are looking at this - are there any plans to release updates that will ensure compatiblity ?

We have our RoboHelp doc behind a secure site. We don't want people to be able to print it out (or create a PDF) for security reasons. Is there a way to remove the print icon and functionality in RoboHelp 2015?

Content-level tag expressions

Being able to apply tag expressions to topic content is my #1 wish for future versions of RoboHelp. Our help project is relying heavily on the new Dynamic Content Filter feature of RH 2015, and while it is definitely a great addition, it would be so much more flexible and useful if only tag expressions could be applied to content.

 

Let's say we need documentation for a simple electronic device, e.g. a USB flash drive. The following options are available:

 

- Interface -

USB 2.0

USB 3.0

 

- Storage -

32 GB

64 GB

128 GB

 

All combinations are possible (USB 2.0 drive with 32/64/128 GB, USB 3.0 drive with 32/64/128 GB). We set up a HTML5 project with a Dynamic Content Filter, create two groups with the criterias, all seems to be fine.

 

But what do you do if there's some section in your topic that applies to all USB 3.0 devices (32/64/128) and USB 2.0 devices with 128 GB? Simple answer: You can't do that.

 

The only option would be to create a build tag expression and apply it as a new criteria to the Dynamic Content Filter window. That means the customer would have to click a seperate filter option like "USB 3.0 flash drive with 32/64/128 GB or USB 2.0 drive with 128 GB". But that's not a viable option in terms of usability.

 

Deciding which content should be shown under which (sometimes complex) conditions should always be in the hands of the help author, not the customer. Please give us the opportunities to do that.

 

There are lots and lots of other examples where content-level tag expressions would be a great help. For example, currently there is no way to declare "do NOT display this content when a filter criteria is met and display other content instead". With tag expressions, you could easily do that. And most of all, all of this functionality is already built-in - but it's stuck in the Conditional Build Tag Expressions which you can't apply to content.

 

I already posted this as a new feature suggestion on bugbase.adobe.com, but maybe some of you like to share some thoughts here.

All framemaker headings are associated to robohelp heading 1. RH heading 1 is set to pagination. However, not all headings are separate html topics. It seems random, some are separate topics and some are not. In one case when I re-ordered the headings in framemaker that fixed the problem. However, I cannot do that in all cases. Does anyone know why they would not be producing separate html topics?

Importing word - need your help...

Hi, I'm trying to import a word file in order to create CHM file.  The whole document is imported as a single topic, not separated into topics according to TOC. The result is that I have a CHM file, orgenized according to TOC, but the search is not working.

Image in master page header

RoboHelp 11

I'm trying to use our company logo and another image (as background) that should repeat across the header. The logo should display on the left with the 'background' image tiled across the page. I'm assuming the logo should 'sit' on top.

 

I've looked at ww3 and found this example

Set a background-image for the <body> element:

body {
     background-image: url('paper.gif');
     background-color: #cccccc;
}

Also there's the background-repeat property. Based on the descriptions, it sounds like this is an approach that should work.

 

But I don't know how or where to use the information. Do I need to edit the master page header placeholder or the project CSS or both? Or is there a better/preferred way?

Trouble compiling

I am trying to compile a Printed Documentation but it keeps crashing when creating the TOC. I have compiled this help project in X5 before, but not with this particular installation.
When I remove the topic where it gets stuck I only shift the problem and it gets stuck a few topics further down instead. I am getting really frustrated and I need to have this finished soon. Does anyone have any ideas?

Favicon not working in IE

When viewing my WebHelp locally, generated with RH10, my favicon displays in FireFox and Chrome, but not in IE.

 

I have tried:

 

  1. Using the default line: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="whstart.ico">
  2. Using a different name for the favicon (e.g., "favicon.ico", "myicon.ico").
  3. Using caps for "SHORT ICON".
  4. Clearing my cache and retesting.
  5. Using these alternate lines that specify type and put the image in a different folder location:
    <link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/x-icon" href="image/myicon.ico" />
    <link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="image/myicon.ico" />
  6. Using the old RH script to provide the http reference to the file location:

  7. Verifying that my .ico file is indeed an .ico file, and using alternate .ico files.

 

In all cases, the favicon works correctly in FireFox and Chrome, but does not work in IE.  I am using IE 11.  I tried switching the IE Document Mode to an earlier version.  No change.

 

Since the .png file format is supposed to work with IE, I tried using a .png file instead of an .ico file.  Still did not work in IE.

Saving Backups to Livelink

Curious if any other RH users have backed up archived versions of their complete project files to Livelink. Our records department wants to move everything to Livelink and I am trying to think of best practices for RH files being archived in this system.

RH9 Server reporting and searching dilema

We had RH9 and server went live recently. But unfortunately stuck in this dilemma:

 

In order to get better searching function, we have to use one pane instead of two panes;

With one pane, RH9 server stops generating statistical reports  (we have window 2008 R2 as the application server)

 

Adobe told me this is a bug.

 

I am quite surprised:  with this bug, how could RH9 server gets its marketing? Do you have any idea about this issue? I searched the user forum and get nothing.

 

I am wondering any possible that we are the only customer using RH server 9 for its reporting? Or this bug only triggered on certain configuration conditions?

Issues with hanging indentation in RH10

Hi

 

I am facing somewhat strange issue (not sure if this is a known bug) with indentation.

 

I imported FrameMaker 11 document into RoboHelp using the settings ISF file. In RoboHelp, I want 2nd line of a list item (say bulleted list) to start from the point where the first letter of the first line starts. Normally, I do it using hanging indents. However, I am not able to get this here. I am generating WebHelp output.

 

Here are screenshots of different paragraph settings and their WebHelp output as viewed in FireFox:

1.  The output of zero indentation is correct.

2. Then, I changed the hanging identation to 0.25 in to check the output. I noticed that the 2nd line is starting slightly after the 1st word of 1st line. So, I reduced the hanging indentation in my next attempt.

3.  Here, I reduced the indentation to 0.2in. Now, instead of reducing the space before 2nd line, I noticed that the space between the bullet and 1st letter of 1st line has changed.

Where am I going wrong? Please guide. The outcome of zero indentation is looking very unprofessional and I need to get this right in the settings file.


RH7 Error: Failed to read from log... Failed to generate WebHelp Pro

Installed RH9 trial on Windows XP PC. Then, generated an existing project using RH7 to a new C: drive directory location on the PC using the same name. Renamed the project files in that C:drive directory to a test name and opened the project's .xpj file in RH9.  It converted cleanly. 

 

Now, when I go to generate the RH7 original project from the original server directory, I receive:  

Error: Failed to read from log (file name) .log.... Internal error encountered,  Failed to generate WebHelp Pro.

 

Does the log file keep track of the previous generation (time stamp,etc), since this RH7 generation has a skip in it for the one generated to the C:drive?  I've compared the log files from each run (.txt files) and don't see a difference. I even copied the log file from the C:drive run to the Server directory. No luck.  Any ideas?

Transitioning from Innovasys HelpStudio to Robohelp

Hi everyone,

 

Not sure if this is a relatively common scenario. I didn't find a great deal after googling unless it was going from Robohelp to HelpStudio. Anyhow, I have just inherited a project which was created using the aforementioned HelpStudio (also known as Document! X). I would really prefer to avoid purchasing licenses for this tool and use Robohelp instead. Anyone dealt with this before that could advise me?

Mapping FrameMaker styles to RoboHelp

I am authoring my content in FrameMaker 8 and attempting to import my FM docs into a RoboHelp 7 project and am having issues with mapping FM styles to RH styles in a .css. When I map FM to RH, the paragraphs in RoboHelp have the RH style applied, but retain most of the formatting that was in the FM doc. I've tried reapplying the .css and template, but the only thing that corrects the formatting is to select each individual paragraph and reapply the style from the .css. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I missing a setting that I should set? Is there a workaround?
For more info, here's some extra detail about exactly what is happening (I'll use one style to illustrate what is happening):
1. In my FM document I have a style called FrameParagraph that is formatted with 10pt Times. In my RH project, I have a style called RoboParagraph that is formatted with 9pt and a font set (Arial, Verdana, Helvetica).
2. When I import my FM document, I map FrameParagraph to RoboParagraph.
3. When I open my topic, the paragraph is tagged with RoboParagraph but is formatted with 10 pt Times.
4. Attempting to reapply the .css does not correct the issue.
5. Attempting to reapply the RH template does not correct the issue.
6. To correct the formatting issue, I have to select the paragraph and reapply RoboParagraph.

Change color of navigation pane

Hi,

 

Is there any way to change the color of the navigation pane only? I'm not speaking about the background image.  I'm speaking about the area containing the <-- and --> buttons.  I would like it to be different than the toolbar (containing the contents, index, etc buttons).

 

It only seems to take the toolbar color/image.
